Project Manager - Structural Engineering

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our Gainesville, VA team

Primary Responsibilities

The Project Manager is responsible for all aspects of project management. The Project Manager leads and manages the design team in the execution of projects by directing and defining project budget, scope, design, phasing and schedule. Communication, policy enforcement, code adherence, professional development and controlling engineering and drafting operations through training and review are the essential responsibilities of the position. The Project Manager ensures that high quality professional service is delivered and that work is completed and done to Cates’ quality standards.

Qualifications

  • BS Civil Engineering, MS Preferred; PE Required, SE Desirable
  • Prior management experience of project engineers and drafting personnel
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in structural design for commercial, residential and mixed use projects.
  • Design and detailing competence with wood, concrete, and steel structures for podium, mid and high-rise buildings
  • Solid working knowledge of building codes, gravity, and lateral systems
  • Deep foundation systems design experience
  • Construction observation experience
  • Preparation of detailed engineering studies and analysis reports
  • Proficiency in REVIT Structure, RAM Concept, Finite Element Analysis, RISA 3D
  • Excellent communication, organization, multi-tasking and strong team skills a must
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet project schedules, and maintain quality standards
